My blood at least. For the hybrids." She shuddered slightly at the feeling of his hand just barely grazing her cheek as he pushed her hair away. "Safer how?" She wasn't sure if that was genuine curiosity or if she was playing a part, everything was blurring together now because everything was about survival. But if she was really safer with him....
"Oh, I think you could do it for as long as you please. It just depends on what strikes you at any given time." Her jaw set, annoyed at the threat to her friend, but helpless to do much more than say, "She doesn't deserve that, you know. And what's so special about me, then?"
