Scott & Allison
A night in and cuteness
Backdated to after Allison's Lucifer delivery/Allison's apartment
PG/Complete
Tonight was nothing all that fancy, just the two of them, dinner at her place and a movie later.
Scott was pretty much always up for spending more time with Allison. There wasn't really such a thing as too much time together, as far as he was concerned. Sometimes, he felt pretty ridiculous for being oh so very into her to the point that he was now. They were both still young, had a lot of living left to do, she might get tired of him eventually. But no amount of second guessing or doubt ever seemed to phase him much.
Tonight was nothing all that fancy, just the two of them, dinner at her place and a movie later. He had promised her he would be there when she got back from the range and he was. He hated everything that had been going on lately. All the little “gifts” Lucifer was delivering to people were hitting too close to home. Especially the one Allison had gotten. He knew it had shaken her pretty hard, so he wanted to be there for her when she got back from blowing off some steam.
As Allison rinsed up the last of the dishes, Scott slid up behind her at the kitchen sink, his hands roaming to grip her hips for a moment, "So I was thinking," the smile he was wearing could be easily heard in his voice as he slid his hands down her arms to link his fingers with hers. "instead of going out, we could just watch a movie here." He dropped a soft kiss to her shoulder before resting his chin there. Scott was always affectionate, but he was feeling especially so tonight.
Allison smiled, but then again there was rarely a moment spent around Scott that wasn’t spent smiling, even with all that had gone on recently. Derek and Lydia had helped, of course, when she’d gotten that unfortunate delivery from Lucifer, but Scott always seemed to be the one to really pull her back from grief. Maybe it was because he gave her something to be happy for. She gave his hands a gentle squeeze with her own and turned her head just slightly towards his.
“We could. I’d like that.” She agreed amiably. Nights in with Scott were sometimes even better than the nights when they went out to do something, besides she honestly wasn’t feeling like she’d be the life of the party were they to venture out.
“Feeling like a homebody tonight? I’m not criticizing, of course.” Allison quickly tagged the second part on so he didn’t think she was against spending the night indoors. She just wanted to know where the change of heart came from. It was a tempting idea, though. Sometimes her favorite thing to do was to just curl up on the couch with him, either talking or watching something. They really were a happy couple. It made her glad that they’d started seeing each other again.
Scott was glad she didn't seem to mind the rather abrupt change in plans. Allison was pretty easy-going in that respect, very go with the flow and laid back. "Little bit," he admitted with a soft chuckle, untangling himself from her, "No, you would never," he smirked, rocking back on his heels before spinning away from her to lead the way back into the living room.
"What kind of movie are you in the mood for?" he asked, moving to sit in the floor to go through the stack of movies she'd managed to collect during her time in Lawrence.
Her lips curled into a smirk in response. Scott could be adorable in even the smallest of ways and never failed to make Allison happy. Whether they were going out or staying in, she would be happy. One thing Lawrence had done that she’d been grateful for was bringing the two of them back together, making nights just like this one possible again. It also gave them freedom and distance from Allison’s father who had never been keen on the two of them dating.
Allison followed him into the living room. “I don’t know, something happy? Funny or just feel good. I’m in that kind of mood tonight.” She smiled and gave him a gentle peck on his lips. She couldn’t hide her love for him if she tried, even when she had what felt like the weight of the world pressing down on her shoulders.
Scott returned the quick little kiss and smiled softly. Her presence was enough to make him relaxed and happy, it was kind of crazy, really. "I think we can manage that." he nodded, turning back to the stack.
"What about..." he muttered as he pulled one of the DVDs away from the pile. "The Hangover?" he asked, looking up at her for whatever approval or disapproval she may have.
She raised her eyebrows slightly, an expression of approval on her face as she nodded. “I could go for The Hangover.” Allison smiled a little at him. She’d seen the movie a million times, but it was still funny and nothing really beat relaxing and laughing with Scott. She really could have used the laughs that movie would provide. A lot of her free time was spent over at his place and she didn’t mind it one bit.
“As long as you don’t mind me staring longingly at Bradley Cooper.” She flashed a playful grin, giving it just a second before touching his shoulder reassuringly and laughing. “I’m just kidding, you know.” Allison wanted to add that she had plenty to stare longingly at right there in person without a movie on, but didn’t want to sound too cheesy.
Scott laughed softly at her comment. "As long as you promise not to run away and elope to Mexico if a Bradley Cooper facetwin ever comes through the Seal." he put the DVD in the player and pulled Allison with him as he sat down on the couch, arms wrapped around her waist.
Things were so simple with Allison, he couldn't quite explain it but it all just felt so...perfect. Like next to her was where he was supposed to be. He wasn't really sure what to make of that, really, so he didn't really admit those sort of things to her. Not that he was ashamed of feeling that ay, but Scott wasn't sure you were supposed to be that serious when you were in high school.
A soft chuckle escaped her lips at Scott’s request. “Cross my heart.” She grinned as she did the gesture, a cross over her heart. “I could never leave you for Bradley Cooper. It’d be unfair to him and me. I’d be moping all the time and accidentally calling him ‘Scott’...” Allison shook her head with a smile. “It’d be a mess.”
Allison snuggled up close to Scott, getting really comfortable on the couch. She always liked the way she seemed to fit perfectly in his arms. Tilting her head back, Allison gave him one last kiss before turning to focus her gaze on the movie.
“I like nights like these.” She sighed contentedly.
"Who are you kidding? You wouldn't have time to miss me, while you were running in celebrity circles." he teased back lightly.
"Yeah, me too," he said in a tone so simple it was almost dreamy, that light-hearted smile still firmly in place. "Think of how many more nights exactly like this we could have if we lived together." The idea had crossed his mind a few times but he hadn't been considering mentioning it just yet, but comment had rolled off his tongue so easily, he hadn't even had time to process it until after he'd said it. There was no taking it back now, though. He bit his lip as he waited for her to react.
“You underestimate how important you are to me.” She smiled at him, this time speaking in a more serious tone of voice. Allison was sincere in what she said. She knew if, god forbid, the Seal took him back she would be devastated. Even lesser separations would bring her heartbreak. She knew it.
Allison grinned at the mention of living together. “Could you imagine? We’d never leave this place.” She laughed quietly. She hadn’t realized that there was a seriousness to what Scott had said. To her right then it was just an idea. A wonderful idea, but an idea nonetheless.
"Oh, yeah?" he tipped his head to look at her curiously. "How much am I underestimating that, then?" The words alone might have sounded sarcastic, but the tone he used was anything less than pure curiosity.
"We would for movies. Or laser tag," he pointed out with a grin. The part of him that had sort of overrode his thinking, rational mind and made the idea slip out in the first place had apparently decided to stay in control, though, because the next thing he asked was, "What do you think, though? I mean...about us living together, for real." The adorable, shy part of him that liked to pop up time and again was in full force then, all quiet voices and shy smiles.
She looked at him silently for just a second, a smile on her face. He was seriously asking her to elaborate on one of her favorite topics and she was glad to do so. “Really? You’re like the most important person in my life.” Allison let her head rest on his shoulder. “The guy I love. Bradley Cooper doesn’t even come close to touching that.” She smirked a little. Bradley Cooper was her celebrity crush, but it ended there. Scott, on the other hand, was a wonderful person who happened to be her loving boyfriend. She often counted herself among the lucky ones for that sole reason.
When he made it clear that the living together idea was a serious one, she lifted her head and tilted it to look at him. “You’re serious about this.” She smiled. “I think... I couldn’t think of a better person to live with.” Allison interlaced her fingers with his and gave his hand a gentle squeeze.
"Really?" He couldn't help the grin that came with hearing those words. "I love you too," he said, kissing her softly. He wasn't sure how she did it, but Allison made Scott feel like the most important person on he planet sometimes. "Too bad for Cooper, though," he quipped, an amused lilt in his voice again. "he's really missing out."
When she lifted her head to look at him, realizing he was serious, Scott was almost certain she would tell him no, or that it was crazy or any oher number of reasons of rejection. But then she did what she often did and surprised him. "Yeah?" he squeezed her hand back gently, "I couldn't agree more." he said, kissing her cheek.
Allison let out a small, happy laugh and kissed him back. “Really.” She echoed him with a smile. There was nothing she was more certain of in life than her love for Scott. “Oh, yeah,” She wrinkled her eyebrows, her voice now dripping with sarcasm. “He’s missing out on me and dating models instead.” She laughed a little. “But,” Her tone was serious once more. “I don’t really care who he dates.” She wrinkled her nose and shook her head.
“So, this is a real thing.” Allison nodded. “We’re moving in together?” She smiled at Scott. “Sharing a bed, a kitchen, everything on a daily basis.” She took a small pause, smiling still. “It’s a nice idea.”
"You're worth a thousand models, Allison." he assured her with a grin, nuzzling her neck just slightly. "Promise," he smiled again.
"It's a real thing," he nodded, a ridiculous sort of neverending grin on his face. "It sounds perfect."
“A thousand.” She raised her eyebrows for a moment, smiling. Scott never failed to make her feel wonderful. “Careful, my ego will get huge.” Allison laughed a little. It wasn’t true. As much as he made her feel beautiful, she never let it go to her head too much. It was important to stay grounded all of the time, but especially in a relationship. That was her thought on the matter, at least.
Allison gave him a kiss right in the center of his smile, laughing a little afterwards. “And you’re sure this isn’t moving too fast for you? I won’t be offended if it is, I swear.”
"Eh, you deserve a little ego boosting," he grinned. To him, she really was worth all of those models. He didn't care what anyone else thought. To Scott, Allison Argent was the most beautiful girl in the world.
Scott pressed his forehead against her own, a lopsided little smile playing on his lips. "Would I have bothered suggesting it if it was?"
“You’re amazing.” She grinned right back at him. As with every nice thing she ever told Scott, she meant it. She had lucked out when she’d met him.
“I guess not. I’m just saying I won’t be hurt if you back out. It’s a wonderful thing, but still a big step.” Allison remained smiling. Secretly, she hoped he wouldn’t back out, but she knew just how big of a thing moving in with one’s boyfriend was. She just wanted to avoid him deciding after the fact that living with her wasn’t as great as he thought it’d be.
"I guess I have my moments." he agreed with a slight nod. He leaned in and kissed her again, that overly-affectionate side that had ultimately started all of this tonight coming out again. Truth was, he couldn't get enough of her.
"I am completely okay with it," he nodded, sliding his arms around her, pulling her closer. "Can't see it going wrong." Maybe that was Scott's particular brand of neverending optimism shining through, but everything from his tone of voice, the expression on his face and even his body language, spoke to how much he truly believed that.
Allison responded simply by smiling and kissing him back, cuddling up close with him. It seemed that the two of them could never get enough of each other. They were an affectionate couple who never seemed to have a problem with public and private displays of affection.
“I believe you.” She flashed a bright, happy smile at him, leaning in for another kiss. Allison sighed happily and gave a small shrug of her shoulders. “We’re moving in together!”
"Yes, yes we are," he nodded, chuckling softly at her excited expression. Scott as really glad, despite the rather random and abrupt delivery of the topic initially, that Allison hadn't entirely shot him down or anything. Even if she had, he knew she'd have been as nice as possible about it, but it was definitely better than she hadn't felt the need to go that route at all.
For a moment, his attention strayed back to the movie before a thought crossed his mind. "Which one of us is moving our stuff into the other apartment?" he chuckled softly.
Most girls, Allison imagined, would be hesitant to leave their apartments behind for an adventure like moving in with their boyfriend, but Allison didn’t share the same mindset as most girls. She shrugged a little. “I keep my place pretty minimalist. It’d be easy just to pick up my things and move them here.” She suggested with a small smile.
“I mean, as long as you don’t mind me hanging a couple pictures and bringing a few other essentials here.” One thing she didn’t want was for something as seemingly wonderful as this to turn out like the scene in How To Lose A Guy In Ten Days when Kate Hudson barged into her boyfriend’s apartment, leaving much more than a few personal touches in her wake. Allison would be respectful of the fact that it was their apartment, not hers or his.
"Works for me," he said, returning that smile in kind. "Doesn't really make much of a difference, I guess." He did't have much here, either. Just the basics, what was needed and such.
"Why would I have an issue with that?" He arched an eyebrow at her. "It's your place too." he pointed out, a ridiculous grin accompanying that comment. It had a good ring to it.
“Here, then.” She nodded, still enjoying the idea of the two of them living in the same place. “I can start working on packing my stuff tomorrow.” Allison leaned in, giving him yet another kiss on the lips. “For now we can just... Be.” She gave his hand a gentle squeeze.
“Our place.” She smiled a little broader.
