Cain's mind just did a little summary of what he knew about Shay so far. She was hot, and she had one of the coolest inventions known to sci-fi. He actually had to start thinking about baseball right about now. Baseball and Babe Ruth and plain green fields. Short of a cold shower, this helped. The wink made it that much harder. "Exploring is good." He mentally winced. Could he have sounded any more lame?
He waved off her consternation. "Don't worry about it. I enjoy chatting with good company." Which she was. For many reasons. "Apartments? Hey, that's pretty cool." It was then that his brain decided to prove it wasn't totally gone. "Hey, uh, there aren't any people talking about X-Men or a place called SHIELD there, are there?" The last thing he needed was to run smack dab into Summers, or Nick Fury. Not that he couldn't squash them both like the bugs they were, but Shay seemed cool, and if she was cool with this apartment place, maybe it was a good thing. And he didn't want to have to destroy it in a big fight.
