Ruby wasn't sure she could stomach the food, even the fries. But he'd bought them for her and she wasn't about to turn her nose up at the gesture. It was less insulting than the money on the table. Not to mention well, he was here. Sarcasm and all aside Sam had come back. So that had to mean something and she wasn't about to do anything to screw it up. So she nibbled at a few of the fries watching Sam as she did wondering what came next
"Thanks" she said softly, mulling over the fact that he was here. Just thinking about it made her more happy than she expected she had any right to be. He'd come back to her, he probably still hated her but he couldn't leave any more than she would have been able to. The tears were slowing for the first time in quite a while.
"Do you want to talk some more?" she continued, "Or I could just try and sleep if you want to think or sleep on the bed or whatver?". She did know why Sam had come back and that placed the ball firmly in his court. He called the shots. Thats how it had to be. It was up to her to make him see she still loved him, rebuild the shattered trust between them, everything she had destroyed tonight, and she wasn't sure if she could but she'd damn well try. She'd do anything.
"I'm talking too much aren't I?" she finished, looking down into the bag of fries. She thought the burger might have been a bit much for her.
