He didn't answer her. The truth was, it didn't change. Nothing changed what he had felt when he was looking inside of the body, reaching out even deeper for the demon within. That black essence had been different from the rest. Warmer, more accepting of his invasion. Sam told himself now that it was because Ruby had been confident that he wouldn't have ripped her apart. Why would he? She had him under her thumb. That was what it had always been, wasn't it? Him, falling for her every trick and lie. If Azazel had convinced her to seduce him for the sake of their cause, she had done one hell of a fucking job. Not only had she gotten in his pants, but she had made him fall in love with her too. Which was why Sam had been unable to finish her off right then and there. He could have, rather easily. But he needed to buy himself some time. He had to think - to breathe. He'd take Ruby somewhere else. Somewhere far, far away from people because he had no idea if she was even dangerous now or not. He was losing sight of everything. That wonderful person that Sam had built Ruby up to be; she was falling apart and so was he.
"Sure you don't have anymore tricks up your sleeve?" Sam asked her with a glare. No demon would just walk to their death. Not without some game plan in order. He was suspicious. Extremely so. Because if Ruby didn't have a plan in store for her escape or even his demise, it would only harden those feelings deep down that he was trying to repress and ignore. She didn't love him. No way. Even if his gut instinct was barking out the opposite, Sam wouldn't accept anything else but Ruby having been out to get him, Dean, and the entire world all along. Yet it wasn't so simple, was it? Tossing her in with the rest of those demons he hated so much...he couldn't do it. He could say it easily, but actually doing so...
What had she done to him? What was wrong with him? She should have been dead or in Hell by now. Dean wouldn't have hesitated. Why was he?
"You're not to harm anyone out there. I can kill you on sight and you know I can. Even without the...." The blood. Oh, fuck, he wanted the blood. His expression hardened. No, he wouldn't take any from her. He was going to haul her off somewhere, interrogate her for answers, and then he was going to kill her. Right? Yeah. Of course. Right. Truth be told, Sam didn't know what was going to happen. The thought of killing Ruby made Sam feel horribly ill.
"Just move," he finished. He paused. "And give me all your weapons before you step out that door." Not like Ruby needed a weapon to harm anyone. And if she had been working for Azazel and rooting for Lucifer, Sam could at least assume that she was capable of killing these people. Had she been killing people while they were together? When she had claimed to be different because he had changed her? Sam swallowed bitterly. She could have been terrorizing people right under his nose and he would have had no idea. Some Hunter he was.
