"True," he said with a nod, conceding her point. "At least in this place most of us share faces with celebrities. It gets a bit confusing sometimes, especially if there's multiple people who look like the same guy or girl. I know I've been asked for autographs before, and people joke about my name if they know my last name is Kirk. Most of the time I just go by Jim or James, which makes it easier. I think only other displaced people know my last name, actually. They're the only one who know my history."
"Hey, no problem," he said with a nod. "I mean, I don't think anyone should end up here and not be prepared. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. I'm just glad you have family here. Hopefully some of your friends are here, too. It makes it easier." And as he said that, he wished even harder his own friends were around, because lately he felt really alone here in Lawrence.
