Who: Morgana and Lancelot
What: Going to check on idiotic princes and finding out they got sent back to Camelot
When: 23 August, afternoon
Where: Arthur's former apartment (402)
Warnings: Minor exploding light bulbs and crystals. Oops?
It had been a couple of weeks since Morgana and Lydia had returned from their hunt and in that time, she hadn't heard high or low from Arthur. She had been trying to give him his space since his drunken love confession and her trying to figure out what the hell he was talking about. Since everyone else seemed to think there was something with Lancelot going on that she hadn't noticed, she couldn't just brush it off as that and well, following her return, it did seem that things on that particular front had started moving in a direction she hadn't expected but was certainly not complaining about. Even so, nearly a month of not talking to Arthur was troubling. Not that she would ever admit to being worried but this was just ridiculous.
For this reason, the priestess headed to his room and opened the door, not bothering to knock. Because this was Arthur and Morgana, this was how they were. Usually it was Arthur barging in on her but it was a mutual thing, really.
"Arthur, have you stopped sulking yet?"
Silence met her.
True it was possible that he was out or somewhere training. (Always had to be active, but it was better than the society here where everyone was lazy) But that didn't explain why all of his things were gone.
No.
No. It wasn't possible. Arthur was not allowed to have been taken back. Something had happened. Or he was being so incredibly petty that he decided to move and not say anything to her or Lancelot. Because she knew Lancelot would have told her if that had happened while she'd been gone.
"Arthur, you idiotic child!"
Because that was easier to deal with than the alternative. But did he honestly think he could just leave and she wouldn't find him? The people Morgana was close to, she was also protective of. She would search them out. Ensure they were okay. Because goodness knew Arthur couldn't be expected to take care of himself. If she didn't check on him, he'd probably end up injured or in some mess. Really, it was for his own good.
Heading out of the apartment, Morgana returned to the apartment she shared with Lancelot and went to her room, gathering what she needed, eyes narrowed in determination. She simply would scry for him, find him, then give him an earful for thinking that running away was the answer to not getting his way, because he had seemed to expect her to just wait around for him. As if he hadn't already left her. As if she would just accept being second choice.
Shaking it off, Morgana quickly headed back to the fourth floor and set up her circle, closing her eyes and focusing herself so that her agitation at the entire situation from her last confrontation with the prince didn't interfere with what she was trying to do. What she wasn't expecting was for the crystal to explode on her, causing the young woman to break her own circle as she fell back some and shielded her eyes from the flash and shards of crystal.
".....no... NO."
Because Arthur being gone meant one of two things. He had been taken to hell. Or the more likely scenario given the state of the now abandoned apartment. He was sent back to their world. Back to where she was his enemy. Back to betrayal after betrayal. To hating her. To dying. Where everything she was doing here didn't matter because it was already written out and there was no changing it now. They both had seen it. They both knew what would happen. Shaking, Morgana looked up and noticed that the light bulb in a lamp had broken, though if it were from the crystal shattering because it couldn't locate someone in another dimension, or Morgana's own feelings were something she didn't know.
It wasn't supposed to end this way.
