Becker hadn't been expecting Jack to say it back. Hoping for it, hell yes, because who wouldn't, but he wasn't going to be hurt or angry if Jack hadn't. So when Jack said it, when Jack actually told him that he loved him too, the smile on Becker's face could have lit up the room.
"I rarely say it," he acknowledged with a nod. "Tends to be where I fuck up a relationship." Or he missed the chance. Like with Sarah. But that was a thought to push out of his mind because remembering lost opportunities when in bed with his lover was really not the best plan.
Still, he looked quizzically at Jack, putting the coffee to one side and shifting to lean on his side so he could focus on talking to him, watching his reactions.
"You really don't get why, do you." There was a hint of confusion in his voice. "You don't actually see how amazing you are." He reached out, casually brushing a hand over Jack's shoulder, just a toying caress as he voiced his thoughts out loud. "I mean there's the obvious stuff, you're funny and smart and seriously hot, but there's other things as well. Like how incredibly loyal you are to the people you care about. How brave you are, doing anything to protect them. And you get me, you get what it means to be a soldier and you don't try to change me. You put up with this beaten up guy who frequently has problems actually expressing how he feels." As much as he was talking now, all too often Becker would freeze up and focus on working through his emotions with the punching bag.
"Also, the sex is incredible, which is a shallow point, yeah, but still, a valid one." He smirked at Jack before leaning forward to kiss him for a moment. "Being with you makes me happy, it just feels right to me and I do love you."
