It didn't seem much to Elena, to offer compassion. Even though she knew of the letter Elijah had written her despite not living it. Never lose your compassion. Those were his words in the future. And she would lose it. When she turned off her humanity. Become worse than Katherine. Those had been Stefan's words and she hadn't asked Matt to verify that claim. Because she didn't need the verification. She knew it was a possibility, she always had, despite everyone else's claims to the contrary. So instead, she simply nodded.
Getting away from Lawrence would be nice. To be normal. But like she had told Claudia? Normal was a pipe dream. Oh sure, they could have their small moment of it, but then they'd return and the drama would start all over again. Or... knowing how Lawrence was, even while trying to escape it, if they even bothered to check the boards, there would be drama. But to not check the boards ran the risk of missing a major change. It was annoying. Because in the end, there was no escape. Though getting away was always a good thing. She never had gotten to take her trip to Prague with Anakin, either. Suicide attempt, watch and trying to put herself back together and then everything else that had happened getting in the way.
"It's a classic, Matt!" And while normally she would bounce/dance and pretend to be on stage singing the closing song, immobile arm kept her from doing so. But despite the teasing, he had grinned, which meant that Breakfast Club it was. Because who didn't love a brat pack movie about a bunch of misfits in detention all getting to learn about one another? As such, the nineteen year old put the movie in, hitting pause as the timer went off for the cookies.
"But first, cookies!"
Making her way to the kitchen, Elena managed to pull the cookies out of the oven single handedly and onto a plate to take into the living room, oven closed. Okay, so she would need help with the drink portion but still!
"I might need help these depending on what we we want to drink." The comment was called over her shoulder to Matt as she scoured the kitchen for drinks. Milk was always good with cookies, after all.
