Tim had watched sports. He studied the game, knew every scientific fact behind each movement but he'd never held a basketball in his young life. He'd always been too short for team sports, so he shied away. Honestly speaking he tried tennis and liked it but Batman hadn't been very thrilled about it at all. Always said he couldn't try out and at first without reason which made Tim furious at the time. But recently he'd been bothering him about it again. Of coarse the mere idea was still harshly rejected but now he knew why. Tim always had bruises and broken bones, it would raise to many red flags on the physical. Being Robin the Boy Wonder wasn't always fun and games. It involved taking hits and lots of them because he didn't have the advantage of super powers.
Tim studied Clarks movement as if he were being tested later. Every shift in stance he noticed and memorized. It was how he survived Bruce Waynes extensive training exercises. Learn everything and then put it to use. It wasn't the best method but it worked for him. Tim was intelligent. Actually way above that. It made doing things like sports easy. Despite his short disadvantage. If Clark paid him enough attention he'd notice Tim copied his motions down to a tee when he was passed the ball. He was over thinking things.
The ball went directly into the hoop and only after he retrieved it and tossed it back to Clark did he look up for approval. "like that?" He was different then the average kid, but he had to be. Had to compensate for the lack of powers to keep up to par with batman and the Teen Titans. But it meant he missed out on alot. Examples showed up of that all over the place as they played. He'd missed out on having any kind of real childhood. He spent most of his time studying. Cases or school, he never really just took a time out to play.
