With the return of tea, Joan had made a pot of tea. She knew Sherlock was starved for it, and so was she, actually. Things had been a bit tense without tea or sugar or anything along those lines the past week. Hopefully now things would settle down with the return of it all. Joan had made a large pot of tea for Sherlock. After all, while she was certain the tea would be drained in a short amount of time regardless of the size pot she made, she was going to put that off as long as she could. Coming back with the tea and cups, Joan set the stuff on the table.
"Try not to drink the entire pot on your own in the span of five minutes, okay? I'd rather not you run the risk of tea poisoning." She was being silly in her warning of tea poisoning, but she did want the pot to last longer than five minutes. Fixing herself a cup, she sat down and took a drink of it. She let Sherlock make his cup of tea in peace before she prodded him about the Irene topic. Once he was settled, she set her cup down on the table. "So you were ready to talk about Irene?" She left the prodding at that, letting Sherlock decide where and how to start. Joan had of course picked up the bare essentials of what had happened, but she was lacking in details. While she could care less about Irene, or Moriarty, rather, she did care about Sherlock and how it affected him. And at least he was willing to talk. There was something to be said about that.
