Worrying was just a universal thing when it came to their circle of friends. They'd all been through far too much together not to worry about one another. They'd all almost died (or actually died) so many times it was ridiculous.
He knew when she hesitated to answer where this conversation was heading. He wasn't surprised in the least by her eventual response to his returned question. He sighed softly, resting his elbows on his knees as he mulled over what he wanted to say.
"I wouldn't hate you," he told her quietly. "Question your sanity a lot, but I wouldn't hate you." He glanced at her sideways. "And Elena..." He hesitated. "I really don't know how well she'd take it." He wasn't sure it wouldn't break her completely, but he was afraid to voice that. Afraid to even think about it. "She's pretty forgiving but Klaus...I think he may be another story."
He definitely couldn't speak for Stefan. He didn't know the guy well enough. He was, however, pretty damn sure how Jeremy would react if Caroline decided she was going to seriously see Klaus. And it wouldn't be well. Not by any means.
"And Jeremy wouldn't react as well as Elena." His voice was soft, and he looked at her again. "Does Jenna even know?" He hadn't talked to her much so he wasn't sure what point in time she was from.
