Matt was glad to hear that for a time at least, she'd gotten to experience a semi-normal high school existence. Sure, things had been normal before her parents had died on the bridge, but that seemed like a lifetime ago. And ever since, things had been more than a little crazy.
When she brought up things being crazy in the Spring, he glanced at her while chewing his pizza. "Yeah, I heard through the grapevine that things got pretty hairy for you a few months ago." His voice was soft, concerned. But there wasn't even a hint of tell me everything right now in his tone. "I didn't get a lot of details or anything, but...if you want to talk about it, I can listen."
