Matt was definitely keeping an eye on things, as well. Not that there was much he could do to help if Klaus or any of the other Originals decided to revert to old patterns. Even if there was a white oak stake in Lawrence, which there wasn't, it would mean that every vampire that was sired by whichever Original they killed would also die. So back to square one. It was really frustrating. And it would definitely be bad if and when that day came. He really hoped it never came to that. Or that the magic users around Lawrence would be able to do something to contain them. Or possibly Superman. He had a great big ice palace somewhere.
"And I'm very glad about that," Matt told her with a soft smile, reaching out and laying a hand on her arm, squeezing it gently before pulling away again. "I'll bring some stuff over for study sessions next time."
But tonight wasn't about studying. Tonight was about spending time with his oldest friend, and catching up and showing he was there if she needed him. Whenever she needed him.
"Yeah, that makes sense," Matt said thoughtfully, chewing another bite of pizza and washing it down with a gulp of the soda. "I'm glad you did, though. How was school here?" He kept meaning to ask about what classes she was taking now, and how the college was.
