If anyone was like Katherine, it was Elena. Stefan simply verified the thing she had been saying for so long that everyone kept refusing to acknowledge. That she could be just as bad as Katherine. She could be swayed to do horrible things in the name of a loved one as Tahiri had. But they pushed her on the pedestal of good and humanity and always said she wouldn't. Well, losing Jeremy had proven her right even if she hadn't. Not here. And if she had any say in the matter, she wouldn't lose her brother. Not to death. Not to the Seal. Even though the Seal didn't listen.
The notion that there could be an actual relationship between Caroline and Klaus? It was basically one of the things that Elena refused to even accept as a remote possibility. Which.. okay, probably was part of the reasons she wasn't on the boards as much. Not that she had been since the Originals had shown up. But whenever she saw the two start in on something, she just stopped. It was easier that way. But maybe not safer. Things could come up out of nowhere like that. Elena just couldn't handle the idea. It made her sick.
Being a vampire, it was the one thing Elena didn't want. Had never wanted. Finding out that she'd end up as one? It had hurt. A lot. Finding out the how of it? It at least made sense to her. Save Matt first. Ensure he'd be okay. They hadn't known about the blood. But that didn't make it any easier to accept. The fact that it proved that pain and destruction continued to follow her? That wasn't something she had even remotely moved on from even as everything else had piled up once again. A life, normal and happy... it was what she had wanted. Family. A family she had no shot at now because Anakin was gone. Again. The daughter she hadn't known how to handle not even a possibility.
"Okay, fair enough!" Because Matt really was outnumbered when it came to male vs female friends.
"And point. Still, Liar Liar, like you said, a classic."
And less likely to bring up thoughts she didn't want to think about. Going to put it in, Elena was all set to get comfortable when the DVD player decided that it didn't want to connect.
"Are you kidding me?"
Scrunching up her nose in defeat, the teen sighed. Well, talking was good. Right? She could only hope.
"So beyond laser tag, how are you settling in? How about Vicki?"
