"Family is everything. Or...it's supposed to be, anyway." Kol said, voice darkly quiet. They were all each other had. It was them against the entire world, for eternity. Even their own parents had it out for them, Mikael chasing them down and Esther plotting her own schemes on The Other Side. How could any of them feel any less than completely and utterly betrayed? And by the very people that, even against all others, were supposed to love them wholly, completely, and unconditionally. But there had been conditions, hadn't there? Loads of them. One they'd thrust upon their children themselves that suddenly, they couldn't even stand to allow them to live. "We'll never have anyone, Bekah. All we have is each other. You, me, Nik, and Elijah. That's it. Outsiders in the inner circle never works out." That was, in Kol's opinion, a very blatant truth. Sad, maybe, but all too true.
He shook his head slightly, "Well, Nik is known for his tantrums." he admitted with a nearly wry sort of smirk. Those words, though. They caught his attention. "He what?" Now, they'd all had their separate spats with each other, that was a given, but Nik had actually disowned her? When did that become okay? Kol shook his head, "You're not. You're not nothing, Rebekah. Don't let him get in your head like that. He's an idiot. Says incredibly stupid thing sometimes, I don't think he means half of it, but I don't think he sees how deep that sort of thing cuts you. Maybe someone should."
He couldn't help the slight smile that came to his lips at that. "Always and forever, sister." he said, giving her hand a squeeze.
