"Liar." she teased slightly. "Lawrence doesn't know how to be dull." she pointed out with a smirk and they both knew that was true. This town was nothing if not constantly keeping people on their toes. When Damon took her hand in his own, she pressed her lips together, glancing down at their interlaced fingers. Had he picked up on it yet? And if he had, why hadn't he said anything? Or was he so lost in her being back that he hadn't noticed the heartbeat, how warm she was to the touch?
And then he went right for the throat, asking about home. It was very Damon, get the bad part over with as quickly and easily as possible and move on. She tensed at the idea of discussing it all so quickly. But it had to be said, right? Had to be done. Maybe she would just ease into it. "A lot," she said vaguely, "you've heard about the cure, right? Silas? Vampire Elena?" Her memories of Lawrence were all still there, but some things were fuzzy, so much time had passed for her between then and now.
