He nodded in response to her request. Damon believed himself to be prepared for any kind of bad news. It seemed that every time someone caught a glimpse of their future through the Seal they came back with some sort of bad news. He’d considered the possibility that he might have done something awful in Mystic Falls, possibly to Katherine, and that was why she looked the way she did. He just hoped it was something she could learn to forgive.
“Walking I can do.” Damon gave a tentative half-smile if only to ease the tension between the two of them. He was slowly headed to the library’s exit. Maybe some privacy would be welcome, maybe it would even ease the mood they both seemed to be in. Damon’s hand practically itched with an impulse to reach out for hers, but he held back. Timing had never been his strong suit, but it was clear that this wasn’t a good time for intimacy of any kind.
