Katherine had gone to sit at the computer, make a post about her return and the like while she waited. Finally, someone actually offered to help her. Damon. Of course it was Damon. Why wouldn't it be? He was all puppydog in love with her and they had been working things out when she was here last. Oh, how things had changed. She couldn't be with him. Not now. Not with Elijah here. This was not a conversation she was prepared to have, but since he made the offer, she sort of figured maybe she could just kill two birds with one stone.
She wandered off away from the computer at some point, waiting for Damon to arrive. She'd circled her way through the library at a pace she was painfully aware of as too slow for her, but eventually found herself wandering back towards the front of the building. That was when he walked in, all determination and smiles that faded all too quickly. He saw her almost instantly and immediately started towards her, brushing her hair out of her face as he spoke.
"What's wrong?"
Such a simple question. Such a loaded answer. But could she tell him all of it? Should she? She wasn't sure she should tell him everything. She was about to break his heart. Again. He could get petty, slip and mention it to Klaus. Could she take that risk? She didn't think she could. Although, if he paid enough attention, it wouldn't be hard for him to tell. "I don't know where to begin," she admitted, reaching up to touch his hand, pulling it away from her face slowly as she looked at him. Katherine shook her head, "Let's...walk." she said, letting her hand fall away from his as she turned to head back outside.
