It had been obvious from what was said on the coms that Katherine wasn’t happy about her return, but Damon couldn’t help but feel like that depressing weight on his shoulders had been lifted. He had missed her more than he liked to admit and seeing her again, he knew, would take all of that pain away. He’d rushed out of his penthouse to find her, hopefully provide some sort of comfort for her.
As he hurried along the streets, even though he wasn’t moving at vampiric pace, he gathered some strange looks from passersby. It probably looked a little weird or even suspicious to see someone hurrying like that, but he didn’t care too much. What mattered was the end result - Finding Katherine.
He smiled faintly when he burst into the library. He saw her, plain as day, though his smile faded when he was able to take in her appearance. It wasn’t just simple unhappiness, she looked different, like something significant had happened. Damon walked over to her, looking very concerned. He brushed a bit of hair away from her face.
