He hadn't put his leather jacket back on at the bar, and he had it slung over his shoulder, hooked on a finger. "Well, I just got here pretty recently. Still trying to adjust to everything. It's very different from what I'm used to. So I've pretty much been on my laptop trying to learn about this era." He grinned at her. "I slept through most of my history classes when I was in school."

After a moment the cool air began to bother him, so he shrugged his jacket back on. His hand went to the deck of cards in the pocket. "How did a stunning woman like you end up not having a date tonight other than me? Guys should be lining up at the door to spend time with you."
