This was certainly a routine Anatoly was used to with Elena. Which wasn't precisely a good thing given how many times Elena had been injured. He'd prefer it if she remained completely uninjured, but in a place like this, that was going to be far easier said than done. And besides, he knew how Elena was, so he wasn't just going to order her not to be reckless. He'd prefer it if she wasn't reckless, but it was part of what made up Elena. Though it was also obvious that there were underlying issues, things he'd obviously missed in the month he'd been gone from Lawrence. But now wasn't the time to press the issue.
"Do you think you need a prescription for pain medication?" He was leaving that choice up to Elena. He didn't think it was necessary, but he wouldn't be a very good doctor if he didn't at least make the offer. The pain could be managed relatively easily by ibuprofen. But it was ultimately Elena's choice what she wanted to treat the pain with. And he of course knew she wasn't liking the whole therapy she'd have to do with it, and he knew it would no doubt be like pulling teeth when they started working on it, but it was necessary to ensure the shoulder healed so surgery wouldn't be necessary.
After a few moments, a bit of a smile turned the corner of his mouth. "Some welcome back this is," he stated with that slightly awkward humor of his. It obviously could've been a much worse welcome back. He could've arrived in the middle of the Seal exploding, or Elena could've been seriously or critically injured. All things considered, it wasn't the worst welcome back to Lawrence Anatoly could have gotten. It wasn't the best, but in comparison it wasn't that bad either.
