True there wasn't the possibility of demons or vampires or any other such supernatural happenings to occur back in the Soviet Union, but there was still a great amount of danger. At least Anatoly could hold onto the fact that things would freeze in time while he was here so nothing would happen to his family without him being there. It was actually comforting to know that Fayina and Jelena were safe back home. He was uneasy knowing Svetlana had been going to meet Molokov, but he knew she could handle herself with him.
When they got to the medbay, Anatoly felt oddly at home there. Despite only a month or so having passed since he'd been sent back home, it had been a year to him. A lot had happened within that year, just like so much had happened while he'd been here. Drawing in a breath, Anatoly went about examining Elena's shoulder, checking for dislocation or broken bones and where the pain was coming from. Eventually, after extensive and careful checking of her shoulder and a couple x-rays, he had the diagnosis.
"The rotator cuff in your shoulder was dislocated. You'll need a sling for your arm, and you need to rest it. If you don't rest it, or so much as strain it, surgery will be necessary." He looked at her, knowing she would want to avoid surgery at all costs. "Along with resting it, you'll need physical therapy for it." Elena's favorite thing, he knew that, but hopefully she would comply with it to avoid the need for surgery. He then grabbed a sling and fitted it for her.
