Mac had found his way to a nearby diner and had been told whatever questions he had should be directed to some message board the woman there showed him. He had been more than grateful to find Mercy and Adam were both here. He was more than unsettled to find that here was apparently Kansas. He didn't really understand what Mercy had been saying, about how he had gotten here, so he tried to push it all out of his mind for now.
He tried to stay inside the diner to wait for Adam, who promised to find him soon. But the woman had to usher him out when she had to close for the night. Mac did like Adam instructed and stayed put, sitting outside the diner, hunched against the wall, head tilted back against the brick the building was made of, eyes closed, trying to just focus. Focus on staying calm. Focus on not being freaked out. Focus on the fact that Adam was on his way and everything would be okay once he got there because he was the Alpha and he could control the monster for him.
He had finally zoned out some, focusing mostly just on his breathing. He had lost himself enough he hadn't heard Adam when he approached, not until he spoke. Mac's eyes popped open and his head jerked towards the voice. "Adam," he said, scrambling to his feet. "Mercy said she was coming too. I... all of this.... I...do you know what's going on?" Despite efforts to hide it, the fear he felt was easily heard in his voice and written plainly across his face.
