Matt pursed his lips, staring hard at the painting. Frankly he just didn't see anything that deep about this one. It was bright and colorful. Almost too cheerful, like the artist was trying too hard. He wasn't sure if Caroline was right about World War One, he had a sneaking suspicion that the painting was the artist's way of escaping into a less harsh life, even if it only lasted as long as it took to complete the painting.
