At Kol's words, Vicki flinched slightly, guiltily looking away. She'd eaten on her arrival, yes, but she hadn't killed so she figured it was okay. She'd even compelled the people to forget, which had been pretty awesome, actually. She didn't appreciate his words about Jeremy's heart, because now it seemed like that was all she could here, and she squeezed her eyes shut.
When Jeremy spoke to her, she let out a soft breath, then nodded faintly, hoping he was right. Having someone say that they believed in her, when no one ever had before in her entire life, gave her a boost of confidence she wasn't used to, and she relaxed a little even as her arms tightened around him. No way was she going to let him go until they could leave the steps together, at sundown.
