She raised an eyebrow when he pulled away from her. He'd made a face that she couldn't quite read — and he was covering it up with a smile, so she bit her lip and kept smiling back, albeit a bit uncertainly. Of course she was happy to see him, but the fact that he knew so much more than she did about her immediate future made her feel a bit uneasy. He'd said it himself — a lot could happen in a short amount of time in a war. There had to be truth to that, if he'd brought it up at all.
She distracted herself by turning to the stove where the kettle was waiting. She hadn't had a proper meal that hadn't consisted of snack foods in a few days, but tea was something she could handle. "It's even weirder that she's older than he is," she replied, turning back around and leaning against the counter for a moment. "And Ron's nearly my age, which is really weird. Did you hear he was in Auror training? I think it's brilliant."
She reached for his hand, nodding toward the couch. It would be a few minutes before the water boiled, after all. They might as well make themselves comfortable, especially if really did have uncomfortable things to talk about.
