Katherine helped the girl get cleaned up, gave her a fresh shirt just in case she lived with someone. She could still hear them though, Alex and Hal, talking. She couldn't help listening.
Once she was finished with the girl, Katherine led her back out the front door, sending her off with a simple, "Go home." She had brought the things needed to clean up the blood, casting a sideways glace at Hal. "I'll clean it." Much as he liked order and cleaning and all those other OCD things he did all the time, this wasn't really something Hal should be doing right now. "You need to get it off your hands. Your clothes." She said, some sort of nearly...mothering sort of instinct kicking in as she knelt down on the ground.
She paused before she started cleaning, the smallest hint of a smile gracing her lips. "Alex is right. It's not futile. Every ounce of restraint is worth it, means something. You did good, Hal. You did the right thing." She assured him, watching the pair of them. Alex was so steadfast with him, so confdent in everything they were doing and how it would work, without a doubt. It was a good thing. He needed it. Hal needed the confirmation, the confidence from others when he had none in himself. That's what they were here for, though.
"Go do that," she nodded at Alex. "I've got this. You get him." That was all they needed in that moment. The confirmation that there was a plan to follow. Maybe, just maybe, that would be enough for this moment to pull Hal to the next one.
