"That isn't the answer, Peter." was all she could say at that point. She couldn't stand seeing him like this, he was right about that, it would make her feel better, but it was what he would want, the real him that was buried beneath the twisted picture that stood before her.
"Can't blame me for trying." She said, a hint of a bitter sort of smirk playing on her lips, but it disappeared seconds later with what he offered. "I don't need any rewards from you." She practically spit the words out at him, wanting more than anything to get away from him right then. But she had no chance against him, she couldn't even squirm her way out of his grasp. She was stuck. "Is that supposed to make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside?"
