Klaus had his day planned perfectly. Compel the Great Detective. Convince Caroline to come and talk to him. Convince her to at least meet with him again. But of course he wasn't quite sure how to phrase things on such an impersonal form as the internet. He'd drawn a few things to occupy his mind. Horses mostly, far off landscapes. He could send her those and perhaps a note to invite her somewhere. But with her timeline so far behind his, who knew what her reaction would be. It made things uncertain and he didn't like it.
He was wrestling with that uncertainty when Rebekah found him. And he didn't like that much either.
He could have yelled at her, could have told her to get out of his way. Leave him be, after all they'd left things rather coldly before as she'd mentioned the last time he'd daggered her. She'd been right of course, he hadn't been able to look her in the eyes as he'd done it. All he'd been able to do was what he always did. Stab her in the heart with the same determination he always had. He didn't do it for fun, he'd done it because he needed to.
Hadn't lasted long anyway.
"Company, really? Don't you hate me this week? I lose track"
Part of him wanted to ask her advice. As a woman, as the woman that knew him best. How could he persuade Caroline Forbes that he was infinitely better for her than the werewolf he'd turned into...well, a less impressive him. But Rebekah would laugh in his face. Finally he shook his head and nearly crushed the phone in his hand as he shoved the thing back into his pocket. "I don't want company. I'm busy" he told her coldly, reaching for his coat.
