Another meeting. Regina was growing tired of having to slip out and meet "David" or "Jerry" or whoever the hell he was in a remote area. She was growing even more tired and annoyed with being force fed his blood. Sure she had struggled at first but threats leveled against those she cared about stopped every protest. Regina would go along with this so long as it kept her loved ones safe. Not the best choice as his blood kept her subdued and more compliant; unable to efficiently defend herself if the need arose. But if she could do something to protect them then she'd do it. She wasn't entirely certain when risking her own life became her primary choice. How many times had she rushed in to be burned? Two? Three? Sooner or later the luck she had to bounce back from each of those was going to run out. If she kept this up she wasn't going to make it out of the next situation alive. Hell if she was being honest with herself she wasn't entirely certain she'd make it through whatever he had planned alive. Shielding him no matter the reason was going to demolish whatever bridges she had managed to somehow build up with some of the displaced. As she arrived at her location she took a glance around to ensure no one had followed her. The former Queen wasn't sure what he'd do if he caught the scent of someone following her. And there was only so much she could do to defend herself and them. Her magic worked differently here; whether that was due to the Seal's interference or the fact it wasn't returned to her the way it should have been. All Regina knew was that most spells took a lot of energy and focus for her to exert. Often not even coming close to what they'd been in the past. Someone would wind up hurt in the end and Regina wasn't taking that chance. It was why she's gone along with what he 'd said. When the time was right and she'd break her deal. But for now trying to convince him that redemption was a possibility despite what she'd learn through searching the Internet was her course of action. Save for the two missing people who were later found dead, completely drained, she was the only one getting hurt. Everyone else was safe so long as she did what she was asked. Seeing him standing off to the side of the room Regina cautiously approached. Though she was fearful she kept it from showing on her face. Walking towards him with the grace and poise she'd displayed as The Evil Queen. "I'm here as requested, dear. Can we get this over with as I have somewhere to be." So far, Jerry had been simply biding his time in Lawrence, playing the long wait instead of going straight for the throat. He had made up a false identity--a Boston cop with a wife and kids back home he was oh so worried about--and even managed to gain some semblance of trust in them. Enough trust, at least, that he had been so graciously invited to stay at the safe haven of the displaced. And it was all thanks to Regina. Poor, broken not-so-evil former Queen. He had been at quite a loss as to how he'd make everything work in his favor to play his game until he came across her that night. Her unintentional blast of magic gave him the very answer to his problems. All he needed to do was convince her to shield him. And how easy that had been. One or two well-placed threats to those she cared about and she was throwing herself under the proverbial bus in an instant and a little bit of his blood helped seal that agreement. And that had been his shoe-in with the others. Regina was such an easy target with her desperate need to be useful and even more desperate desire to help someone else see the error of their ways and walk along a path of redemption. So, he let her try. It was all useless, but she didn't have to know that. As long as he could keep her coming back to do his bidding. However, he was growing tired of having to ask her to meet with him, so he had another plan in mind for their meeting tonight. He had found an abandoned house to set up shop in a few days ago and had already begun setting it up to his own liking. Blacking out the windows and all the other safety precautions he needed, since his protections would be disappearing tonight. "So glad you could join me, dear." he drawled, a slight smirk sliding across his lips. "You can wipe the smirk off your face, dear." Regina said her growing annoyance evident in her tone. The former Queen just wanted this to be over with. For him to give her his blood like he had a few times before and she could be on her way. Perhaps at a later point she'd try and convince him of a redemptive path but not tonight. No, tonight she wanted to be far away from him and whatever he was planning. "As I said, I'm here as requested and would appreciate getting this over with quickly. I have somewhere to be." He was certainly not wiping the smirk off his face at all, but he was studying every move she made. He didn't entirely know her well enough to predict anything she might do, some off-the-wall action she thought she might take. But even tiny motions could tip him off, so he kept his eyes on her at all times. "And just where do you need to run off to so quickly?" He asked, arching an eyebrow at her. He couldn't imagine, given what he'd read up on her, that she had many friends. And weren't most of the people here dealing those losses they'd just suffered? Oh, how little did they know that they would be losing even more soon enough. "Because I had a whole nice thing planned for us tonight. It'd be just awful if you couldn't stick around for it." Her lips instantly pursed and she clenched her teeth. He was changing the way things had gone on since he'd exposed himself to her letting her see who he truly was. "Where I have to go is of no concern to you." Crossing her arms across her chest she raised an eyebrow. He had something planned for the evening. Regina was curious why he was changing the way these evenings played out but also didn't want to be in his presence longer than need be. She needed to be with someone she trusted and she most certainly didn't trust Jerry. "I'm sorry to say that I will have to miss whatever you have planned as my evening is all ready occupied with other plans." "Can't blame me for being curious," He shrugged, slowly advancing toward her. There was nothing friendly or inviting about him, his stance, the very air around him screamed predator. But she knew what was coming. At least part of it. And if she were smart, she wouldn't bother trying to stop it. That would only make things worse for her before he got what he wanted. Jerry stopped when he was in front of her, biting down on his own wrist, offering it to her, an air about that moment almost as if this were the most amazing gift a person could receive. Once she had enough blood working it's way through her system, he pulled his wrist away, licking what remained before dropping his hand back to his side. "Now, about that thing I had planned," he said, moving in the blink of an eye to stand behind her, one arm around her, holding her in place, though her subdued state from their little exchange almost ensured he wouldn't have much fight from her right now. "I'm bored and could use so company so--" Instead of finishing that statement, he simply allowed his fangs to extend, mouth contorting in ways that were definitely not human as he bit down on her neck. She watched him move towards her. His movements ones that she had stored away in her mind from previous encounters with him. Ever so much the predator but she wasn't going to let her dear show. Wasn't going to give him the satisfaction to know that she did fear him to some degree. She was no stranger to vampires. Her best friend being one had made her well aware. But Katherine wouldn't hurt her; at least not intentionally. When he offered his wrist she took it with both hands and did like she had before. The taste of the blood not as much of a shock to her system as it had been the first time. Little by little Regina could feel the effects until she was completely compliant to do whatever he wanted. It was a feeling she hated. The first few days the effects were quite strong but as the days went on the feeling began to diminish. Those were the days she relished since this began. The days when she began to feel more like herself. She still wasn't entirely certain why this was necessary as she had no intention of breaking her word. At least not for the time being. But resisting would undoubtedly make things worse so she did as instructed. It all happened at once. Not even a moment to really contemplate what he meant about his plans and being alone. His blood made it hard for her to do anything. Completely at his will. And his grip on her body was tight. When his fangs sunk into her neck she attempted a half struggle to get away. But she knew it was pointless. For the second time since arriving in Lawrence she was facing her death. Completely helpless to prevent it. The energy she needed to use her magic was gone; his blood having taken away her one possible means of escape. The Seal had brought her back to life the last time but this time it wasn't so simple. This time it was death literally by the teeth of another displaced soul who had lied to them all. A death that she was positive wouldn't be replaced and if he turned her there was no telling what she'd do. Or others would do to her. Closing her eyes she had one thought. This is the end. The end of the former Evil Queen. The mayor. The end of Regina. He liked how compliant she was, even without the blood, but that had been his insurance policy. Perhaps she never would have said anything, perhaps she was waiting for the right time to speak out, either way he had to make sure she didn't speak up. But now, it didn't matter. Now, she would not even be who she was. He had no intentions of killing her, though she had no way of knowing that. After he'd done his part, he took her down into the basement of the house he'd constructed to his liking, well enough at least. He would keep her here until she awoke, full of confusion and needing guidance. Jerry would be there to show her everything she needed to know. |
