She stood before him with as much confidence as she could manage, and with anyone else it would have been enough to be considered cocky but with him, well, with him it was more like bravado.
Of course he would notice the emotions. She couldn't hide that, especially not from somone as observant as Klaus. "It's...harder to deal sometimes but so far maybe it's worth it." Sometimes, that as debatable.
"I got complacent, yes." she admitted. She hated that she had, she was so unprepared for this, but now she could only deal with it as she went along. This meeting was step one. If he was showing mercy, she had to show her belief in his word, no matter how much they both knew she had her doubts about it. Actions meant more in the end anyway.
"You could start over here, Klaus." Maybe this was a bad tactic, but it was the truth. If he played his cards right, and he and his siblings played nice, it could be very different in Lawrence. "You can change what people know. There's still...plenty of people that would never trust you as far as they could throw you, but you could make allies here. Friends. Real ones. People here, they'll let you start over, base their actions towards you on how you act here, not what you've done at home." She stared up at him, all serious and hoping like hell this impacted him somehow, even in a microscopic way. "You can have a second chance here, Klaus."
