I should have stayed, even if you did not want me. Much thought as he looked down at Robin. It took him an hour or two to come down to the medbay after calming down some. His nerves were shot, his stress levels were higher than they'd been since he arrived. When he couldn't find Robin after Gisborne disappeared it was the scariest thing he'd experienced. He'd gone to walk Arrow, Arrow found Giborne and the body was mangled. There was so much blood. Gisborne's death didn't really have a single bit of an effect on him, Gisborne deserved it after how much pain he caused. How much suffering he'd helped create. Especially this Gisborne. He deserved it. Robin did not. Robin had done everything for everyone, sacrificed so much and Much could not even help him when he needed it most.
He felt like he failed. He flet like the worst friend, or servant in the world. He fet overwhelmed with fear that his failures had lost him his best friend. He spent hours in that god forsaken forest looking for Robin until he gave up and turned on his phone. The last nearly two weeks had been nothing but stress. He could barely eat anything without feeling like he was ready to throw up. He could barely keep up with things. He felt like he was struggling to just keep his head above water. He'd spent the night hugging Lydia, not even telling her in words things would be all right as she sobbed in his arms. Just holding her while she cried. Truth was, he felt a bit like doing it too but he didn't. He just stayed with her until she fell asleep, until he could rest assured she would be all right and he could take Arrow out. He'd been hoping that maybe a walk would be relaxing. Fresh air and forests and all that. It was the opposite. When he'd found Gisborne dead blinding panic took over.
He searched and searched, tried phones, tried bird calls that were really quite stupid because all of them sounded alike. He'd mentioned it to Robin before, but still if Robin heard them he'd respond. Nothing happened. Nothing for three or four hours happened at all. He found no sign of Robin, nothing and his heart sank even further. As he watched him, still it sank. Watching him in that hospital bed was the most difficult thing Much had ever done and they'd been through many difficult things.
It brought back memories of the Holy Land that he'd tried to block out, tried not to talk about anymore if for the only reason being that Robin did not want to. Watching him in that bed, his blond brows furrowed uncomfortably as he leaned against a cushion Martha had given him. "I should have stayed with you." He was a bit paler than usual from lack of sleep. Finally he caved in, sitting in a chair by his masters bed heavily asleep and emotionally drained.
