WHO: Sam and AU!Dean
WHAT: SAM IS HUNTING...his not!brother.
WHEN: Evening.
WHERE: A bar.
RATING: TBD.
He had holy water and a pistol, but there was nothing that Sam could do to prepare himself for this. Dean. An alternate Dean who, in a fucked up turn of events, had been turned into a demon. How he got his hands on his old body Sam couldn't say for sure, but the running theory he had was solely based on his own experience with Dean and death. When Dean had died and gone to Hell before, Sam had refused to burn his body. Burning a persons remains was the official way to make sure that a person who was dead stayed dead. It was why it was the official hunter funeral procedure. Coming back from that was impossible. And after Dean had died? Sam wanted to leave every door open.
What he hadn't wanted was his brother to turn into a demon. Demons were twisted, dark, completely unrecognizable caricatures of the people they were before they died. A demon Dean was not the Dean that Sam knew. He wasn't Dean at all.
Sam quietly stepped out of the truck that he'd left parked across the street from the bar he knew the demon was inhabiting. Playing poker. Drinking. Probably plotting away to go off and do...what, exactly? Murder? Contact Lucifer? Something worse? He didn't wanna know. Not really. The only thing that Sam wanted to do at this point was contain alternate not-Dean and keep him contained until the real Dean came back. Once he got his hands on him, he'd find some spot to keep him locked away. Sam wouldn't have to talk to him. He wouldn't even have to look at him.
But containing him came first. Sam pulled up the collar of his jacket and made his way into the bar. Dean was in there somewhere and, as much as he hated to admit it, it wasn't all that easy for Sam to blend into the average crowd with his massive height. It wouldn't take Dean long to notice him. And when he did? Sam would take him down. Jaw setting, Sam climbed onto the first empty bar stool he could find and ordered himself a beer.
He'd let Dean make the first move. And if he didn't? Sam would follow him out and take him down then. Until then, Sam would wait.
