It was mostly a memory that made her feel anything. Kissing him, touching him, it stirred up those memories, bringing them freshly to the surface, mixed with a faint brush of a feeling now.
A feeling that made her feel sick to her stomach.
"No." It was the truth. "Being with him makes me feel human. Though being with you makes me feel ill inside, and I suppose that's human too." It was the darker side of being human. It was the those dark urges and needs that no one liked to talk about, the sinister side that everyone had, but especially those who had experienced the things she had. She had died, she had wanted revenge, and it was having her Hal by her side that had stopped that. This one though, this one would have led her to Rook and laughed as she tore him apart. "Should have known you'd find something like this a turn on," she sounded as disgusted as she felt, even as the stake wavered at his back. "You know what? Fuck you."
With her mind she drew back the stake again before slamming it forward. It was aimed at his heart, should have hit it, but in her weakness, at that last split second, she hesitated. And the stake buried itself into his back, a mere inch from the cold heart, twisting a little as the tip just missed.
