Inwardly, she hated herself more than a bit for letting him pull the branch away. Yes, there were others, yes it would take mere seconds for her to pull one to herself. Maybe even just slam in into him without her even needing to hold it.
But she didn't.
At least not yet.
"God, you're a fucking cliche." She practically snarled at him, even as he had her pinned down. "Blood, power, sex, talk about Bond villain. Get a new tune, that one's been over played already, sweetheart." Though once again, her mind wandered to her Hal, her love, and what might be happening to him wherever he was. With hot women throwing themselves at him with blood and sex, vampires tending to his every need, the Lord of the Old Ones, most powerful vampire of all. Would he be able to resist all of that? Would he ever be able to come back from it?
Though she did have to laugh, a bitter and almost choking sound. "No, they haven't figured it out, but you really think I'm going to let you get away with it to save myself? I'd rather fade away to nothing than let you do this. And if you knew a damn thing about me, you'd understand that."
Her eyes flashed angrily as she glared at him, her neck stretching slightly even as he pinned her down. "Tone down the ego there, your kiss wasn't that good. Believe me, you've got nothing on him."
