No. This wasn't happening. Rory couldn't be gone. They had changed the future, created a paradox. Rory had died twice on the same night in the same place. It had worked. But he was gone and in his place, an angel. Those blasted angels. All Amy could do was stare at it. There had to be a way to save Rory, there just had to be. But even River said that one more paradox would rip New York apart, that there was no hope of saving him, bringing him back. She had fought to keep him. The universe tried to keep them apart and she always found a way to be with him.
And then her mind flashed to the gravestone, the gravestone that hadn't changed despite them fixing it. Because of that lone surviving angel. Because it had been written in stone. Rory dead. There was room on it, they could be buried together. If she went back. If she simply blinked. She needed to know. Because there was no life without Rory Williams, not for her. Hadn't she proven that enough? And oh, she could hear the desperation in her Raggedy Doctor's voice, trying to get her to come back to the TARDIS, but Amelia Jessica Williams was focused on one thing. Getting to her husband. Of not backing down, of doing everything within her power to get to him. Even if it meant letting the angel take her. For oh Amy loathed the angels, feared them. She had first met River because of them, when she nearly had turned into one. Because she had stared at it, never blinked and had to find her way in the darkness. But for Rory? For Rory she would blink. Because that was how it was always supposed to be. Her and Rory.
Ignoring Eleven, ignoring his pleas, she called her daughter to her. Her daughter she would never see again, her daughter who knew that this was what Amy needed, knew that she had to take this chance. How could she leave Rory to spend all that time alone? She was hurting them, but she couldn't... she had lived without Rory, so many times and it was never right, not in the end. And she knew, she knew that River, Melody, she knew her daughter would look after the madman with his box, her best friend, her son-in-law. She would look after him. She just needed to make her promise. To be a good girl. To watch after him.
"I'll be fine, I'll be with him."
And he kept pleading. She knew he had feared this day. He had lost so many, they were connected, the insane twelve year old looking time lord, and the eight year old girl sitting in the garden, the girl who waited. But Amy had made her choice, had made it so long ago, and her choice was Rory. Steeling herself, knowing that it wasn't definite but still her best chance, the red headed woman turned around, to see his face one last time when she could have just blinked.
"Raggedy Man, good bye"
And she was gone.
In the TARDIS.
Why was she in the TARDIS? No. This was not okay. This was so far from okay. Because she had made her choice and Eleven had gone and made her not keep to it. Had somehow gotten her back into the TARDIS and away from Rory. Forever.
"DOCTOR!" Eyes blazing, she ran went in search of the idiotic man who thought he could make her decisions for her just because he didn't agree with her, "WHAT DID YOU DO!? IT WAS MY DECISION JUST BECAUSE YOU DONT AGREE DOESNT MEAN YOU CAN JUST... STOP HIDING, I KNOW YOU'RE IN HERE!"
