The fact that they could be seen together without risk to their, and others, lives, was right near the top of reasons why he wanted to make being here work. Some bad things had happened to them both, but they had helped each other through them as best they could, and it meant they could enjoy these moments. He'd been scared a few times they might never enjoy something so simple as this again.
So like Marian, he was more than content to take full advantage of it. Too many times now he'd let himself forget their promise that they would make the most of their time here.
