Since being in this place, Gaia had stopped in her search for finding a rich man to potentially be her husband. Being a woman in a patriarchal society wasn't easy, especially when one such as Gaia was a widow and had no family. But being in this world had shown her a woman didn't need a husband in order to survive. She could survive on her own. In many ways, this place was playing into her lust for pleasure more than her own had. While Rome may have been a trade center and she'd had access to many things from around the known world then, there was so much more available in this one.
In the purest sense of things, Gaia was undoubtedly addicted to pleasure. She sought it wherever she went, always looking for what could give her the high she was always in desperate need of. Though while she could seem to be nothing more than a junkie, Gaia was still intelligent and cunning. Her mind was a sharp one and there were few details she ever missed. Noticing details were necessary when she was the type to play into what people liked in order to gain favor. But tonight, she was not going to play into someone's desire or mold herself to fit into it. No, tonight, she was putting the adventurous part of her forward and see if anyone would bite.
Gaia was not a prude in any respect and she was open to new experiences. But even with that, she had her favorites and she had to admit, she was aching for a woman's touch. Despite having a fluid sexuality, Gaia had always been more attracted to women than she was to men. That didn't diminish her casual relationships with Galen and Gannicus, both of them were wonderful lovers that could fulfill her needs well. But there were times when Gaia missed feeling a woman's touch. Nothing could replace it, which was why she had been hoping a woman would catch her attention tonight. Though this behavior was still entirely new to her. People seemed to be more open with their sexuality when it came to being in public these days than Gaia herself was used to. But as the saying went, when in Rome do as the Romans do.
Once Gaia looked at Bo when she turned to her after ordering the drinks, the Roman woman was immediately taken by the other woman's eyes. There was something about them that drew her in, made her want to know more. Perhaps it was that edge she saw, or perhaps it was something else. Whatever it was, she took to it and decided to see where this encounter would go. Taking the offered hand and shaking it, Gaia smiled. "I'm Gaia. Gratitude for the generosity, it is most appreciated." Despite the fact she'd been here for slightly over a year, Gaia could not completely drop her manner of speech, still maintaining a more poetic one than most people spoke with today. "Are you just beginning or have I encountered you further along in your pursuit of adventure?"
