So maybe insight had been the wrong word, Elena wasn't certain. Mostly because she didn't know the situation. All she knew was that sometimes something could be said that made no sense but eventually would. Or someone could see things that weren't so obvious to the person who was living through something because they were too close to the situation.
If she had known the situation, had known that Buffy had died, well, she would have been able to relate to that. Because she had died in the sacrifice. Had been willing to go through with it if it meant saving all of her friends. Her family. Or at least her remaining family as it was just Jeremy and Alaric by that point. But she didn't know and so she could only just deal with the vague references and have no idea who to point Buffy towards because showing up here from being dead? It wasn't that defining, not in Lawrence at least.
She noted the lack of answer to the question, which pointed to the avoiding dealing with the ramifications. She said there was no insight, which meant she wasn't afraid of making it real by admitting it. She just didn't see that anyone else would understand. But there was the comment on telling her friends and that caused Elena to bite her lip in thought.
"Probably, they care so they'll worry. And no matter how much you try to shield them, to keep them from doing so, they will." Shrugging, Elena sighed and looked to the older blond beside her, "Just make sure you know what you want to say and be prepared for whatever they may say."
Really, Elena had way too much experience with the avoiding and the reasons on why and then having to tell someone and the potential fall out, especially if you weren't ready.
