"Because I totally didn't have enough to think about," Buffy said ironically. Her voice wasn't loud; she was speaking more to herself than to Elena.
As Elena crossed her arms, quirked her brow, and waited, some of the edginess left Buffy's posture. No banter here after all, and if she was expected to think... the weight and readiness of Buffy's gaze grew fuzzy and light until it drifted away like a dandelion puff on a breath of air.
She wasn't thinking, she was just waiting too, until suddenly a thought popped into her mind unbidden. "I haven't told them about it... I mean, the ones who don't already know. I guess I'm not looking for insight either, or I would have. Shared." She sounded vaguely surprised.
