Elena had learned the hard way that thinking you had moved on and actually moving on were two vastly different things. Thinking it meant burying it until it exploded. First hand experience. It was a bitch. Especially the aftermath, and trying to rebuild the pieces. Maybe that was what compelled her to push it more. She didn't want to see someone else get to the point she was at. Struggling to just go through the motions.
"And beyond a very....interesting...meeting in a graveyard, I don't know you." Because Elena had never watched the show Buffy was from. What she knew was what she had observed with previous Buffys and what she saw now.
"But that doesn't change the fact I can recognize certain things."
Shrugging, Elena brushed her hair behind her ear, not even phased by the way Buffy had said her lone comment.
"Sometimes an unbiased person can offer more insight than those closest to you."
Goodness knew it was where Elena was presently struggling. Finding that unbiased person who had an understanding of this place and had an idea on how to work through certain things.
