Jack laughed, more impressed by the second. "You know I'd believe that. Remind me to challenge you more often" It was refreshing, truly refreshing to meet someone new like this, from another time and another world entirely that understood a part of him not everyone did.
"I wonder though, a world without conflict, war, revolution. Doesn't that just get a bit 1984? I've seen it happen, people fight so hard against conflict that they take whats thrown at them. Give up their liberties one by one until they've nothing left worth a damn. People like us, we fight so no one else has to. My job originally, I traveled through time making sure people weren't screwing with it, screwing with history. I saw so many battles, so much war and so often I had to just let it happen, because this war if lost would mean these people never invented this thing and so on. Time is messy as hell, stay clear of it." he told him. Of course before the Time Agency, and after, there had been wars too many to count.
"Dinosaurs and war wounds. You're just all over this second date thing already aren't you!"
The name didn't, and Jack shook his head. "No, but you could ask the Doctor. If someone called that was involved I figure he'd know?"
"No two worlds are the same, you ask me and I've probably met it." Or slept with it but Becker didn't need to know that just yet. Let him get his head around Time Agent first. "They're just people generally, some good, some bad. And then there's that one race that stopped being people a long long time ago." A shadow seemed to cross his face at the very thought of them. "But they're a story for another time. Lets go with some of the more interesting ones. Like the Nostrovite that knocked up one of my team or Slitheen that basically only exist to be gross. Or have you ever heard of Cat Nuns."
