He couldn't run. Ghosts were annoying like that and she was probably the most stubborn of any he'd known. And god was she actually, prodding him? It seemed that she was, as entirely barbaric an outcome as that was. Prodding him in the chest and yelling at him because he apparently wasn't listening. No no, he was listening, she was not. She never listened, looked good, good enough to kiss anyway Why wouldn't she let him just kiss her, would have been so much simpler. He wondered if she'd shut up if he did that? Unlikely of course, he'd get slapped and have to listen anyway.
And why of all things was she asking him was he Lord Harry now? Of course he wasn't, this city would have burned long ago, drained it dry and moved East, killing a swathe through the America's. He might hit the Confederacy again. God it had been years.
"If I was him again Alex we wouldn't be here, so no, no I'm not. I'm not drinking blood, I'm not doing anything like that but I will, don't you see that I will. Its not being the victim, its preventative. For once, for once Alex, I'm saying do it, but you never will, will you. You'll never do it unless you see him, do you want to? You must, or else why are you pursuing this."
"Mitchell, Annie's Mitchell actually, vampire, a lot younger than me, obviously. But he tried to come off the blood, tried to live a normal life. And well it all got rather sideways when he massacred a train car full of humans. Box Tunnel 20, Yeah, you probably heard of it. Caused such an outrage, well that, that was nothing to the things I could do. And he knows that, he heard rumours of me and he's stuck on this idea that if I can do it, so can he, and I hope he can, god I hope he can. I just think he could do with a better role model."
