It almost worked. Apparently he was badass enough that despite the lack of true love involved his kisses were pretty damn awesome. But it wasn't enough to shatter the curse. Still it had been worth a try. It was a pity, he decided, that he may well have to knock Becker out to ensure everyone was safe. But he believed himself unarmed, both a good and bad thing. Jack kept his gaze focused on Becker, knowing that may be the only way, win a bit of trust. Give things a chance and then if he had to, if he absolutely happen, put him on his ass.
He really hoped it didn't come to that. The guy was just lost in memories no one seemed to have any hope of getting him out of. It was a cruel fate for a solider but not entirely unexpected.
"You have a gun, you have the gun you always have, it seems to be a favourite. And we're not where you think you are. But since you won't believe that right now I'm just going to sit with you. Just you and me, we're gonna sit here and wait it out, and if it hurts, if the...injuries hurt. You let me know and I'll be here for you, long as I can, okay?" he asked calmly.
Or there was the other option.
"Or you could think I'm an enemy and get your rage out on me. Its not gonna put me down and you might feel better, either way Captain, I'm in this for the duration. Get used to it."
