The names. The names made no sense. Connor. Abby. He didn't know them, couldn't picture them, but the weird, inexplicable need to protect flared up. Whoever they were, they mattered. Didn't they? Kansas? What?

And where had he been before all of this? He blinked, tried to think, to remember, remember any time before the darkness and the beatings. Sitting at his mother's kitchen table, but that had been weeks... no months.... how long ago? Time felt... blurry. It was the only way to describe it and it was more than just the disorientation of days in the blackness.

But then any other thoughts went away when his captor reached in and.... kissed him?

The kiss was actually soft, the first softness he'd felt in so long and for a moment Becker found his lips responding automatically and it was as though his mind went completely blank just for a few seconds.

"What the fuck..."

He blinked, his head falling back and for a moment he almost thought he could see an alleyway and a good looking man in a really great coat standing by him, before the image faded and he was back in the cell.

"Can't shoot you," he coughed violently again. "Took my gun. But come near me again and I'll fucking kill you. Bare hands if I have to. So why don't you send someone further up the food chain to start the questions."
