Ginger & Maleficent
Monday, March 4, 2013; A cafe in town.
Ginger's being stupid and trying to cut a deal with the PsychoWitch.

This was stupid and she knew it.

Ginger had arranged to meet with Maleficent in hopes to get her to lift the curse she'd put on Peter. This was stupid and she knew it. The witch knew exactly which buttons to push to light a fire under Ginger and she went for the throat immediately. And that is why she was here. There was nothing that told her she could trust this bitch's word for anything, but she didn't care. She had to at least try. She had to for Peter. If there was even a chance that she would keep to her word, Ginger had to try, because she would hate herself for not trying later.

She was sitting at a table at a cafe, waiting for her to arrive. She didn't know what to expect from this meeting, and she was probably not even remotely prepared for what was to come, but none of that showed on the outside. The nerves, the fear, it was all buried beneath a mask of false bravado. She could only hope that the other woman couldn't immediately see straight through it.

Maleficent almost teleported herself to the cafe, but figured that alarming the masses wasn't the most prudent way to arrive. Even if she would relish in all of the terror that movement alone could create, it was best if she attempted to remain under the radar for a little longer. She strolled into the cafe, adjusting the sunglasses she'd procured when she'd deemed a wardrobe change necessary. She could adapt when necessary, even if she preferred making everyone else adapt to her ways.

She spotted Ginger easily enough, smiling at the collected exterior the young woman was donning. It was always more fun when they put on the brave bravado. Chipping away at it and watching them crumble at her feet was more satisfying than having them do so immediately. Like with Robin, all brave words and unimpressed tone until she'd struck at the person he cared most for. When would these fools realize that love was a weakness and the only thing that emotion ever did for them was provide a way to be broken? But that wasn't what she was here for.

So Maleficent took her time walking over to the young woman and bent down in front of her, mimicking the kissing cheek movement she'd seen others do in the foreign lands she'd visited. "So lovely to see you could make it," she informed Ginger before sliding into the seat across from her. "Shall we move past the pleasantries and get down to it?"

Ginger spotted the woman as soon as she walked in the door. She wasn't exactly hard to pick out of a crowd. She probably preferred it that way. She seemed to be full enough of herself to be the type. Ginger's nerves only increased with the languid pace the witch approached her. She wanted to get this over with and the bitch was just taking her damn weet time. But she kept herself collected on the outside. Ginger was nothing if not an excellent actress and if she could just make it through this meeting, everything would be fine. That's what she kept telling herself, anyway, pushing away that doubtful thought that maybe she wouldn't make it back to the complex after this. That was a risk in meeting a psychopathic witch, but it was one Ginger was willing to take.

She pulled away, disgusted at the kiss on her cheek. "Yes, let's." She agreed with skipping the platitudes. She wanted out of here as quickly as possible. "What did you do to Peter?"

"He desired a gift and I gave him one." It had been as simple as that really. The man had wanted to steer attention clear from his friends, but honestly all he had done was focused hers more onto them. He'd given her the keys to his own weakness as well as theirs, neatly wrapped up and ready to be exploited.

She contemplated ordering a coffee, wondering if this little rendezvous would last that long. "I think it worked out quite well for me. How is the dear boy doing? Does think he's insane yet?" If the curse continued on him she had little doubt that might actually occur. He seemed so close to the edge on insanity anyway, a little push might do just the trick.

	"That doesn't tell me anything." She replied curtly. Ginger was not in the mood for games and if she had anything to say about it, they would not be here very long. Not very long at all. "So it was you." She said, narrowing her eys in the other woman's direction. "No, he's stronger than that." she said, shaking her head. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

"He's only as strong as his demons let him be. With the constant barrage of his worst ones over and over I doubt he'll be able to last much longer." She couldn't help but laugh at the mere thought of the man coming unraveled. It was always entertaining to see that happen.

"Of course, I could stop it from happening. Make his visions go away." She turned her attention back to Ginger, smiling a smile that was void of any mirth. "For a price."

She never did anything for free. Why in the world would she start now? And even if she did lift one from Peter, putting another on this woman would continue to hurt him in another way. A win-win, really.

"He's as strong as his support system lets him be." She countered, eyes still narrowed. "And he's got a big one." Not that his large group of friends and acquaintances meant all this wouldn't push Peter over that edge, but she couldn't think that way. She refused to.

Ginger's eyes wandered around the cafe for a quick moment. She wasn't sure what she was looking for, but if this woman tried to pull anything, Ginger knew she would have to be quick. Her eyes darted back to the cold, calcuating face across from her. There was almost no hesitation from her, her words rushed, nearly desparate. "Would you really take it away?" Even if she said yes, nothing was a garauntee with this woman.

"You'll never know if you don't see. Maybe I will. Maybe I won't. But can you live with the what if should you decide not to see if I do?" Maleficent leaned back in her chair, smile still on her face as she continued to watch the girl. "That doubt will always linger and you'll hate yourself more than you always do because you had a chance to end his misery and you turned your back on him."

She rose. "But I suppose he did the same to you so perhaps its a fitting punishment, hmm?" And then she turned to walk away, pausing to push in her chair. "What a nice chat we had. Pity about your friend."

Maleficent's words hit her like a ton of bricks. Because she was right. Ginger would never be able to forgive herself if she turned her back on this chance. If Peter toppled over that edge and she knew that she hadn't used every last resource, pulled out ever trick, to at least try to get him away from it, she'd never be able to live with herself.

"I'll do it," her words were again, rushed, wavering with the fear she'd locked down before. "I don't care what it is. Just leave him alone."

"Very well." It was a rush to have them trade curses for one another, to feed off the misery she was able to create with these simple scenarios. All of this only further cemented in her mind that love was a folly best left to fools.

She turned around on her heel, producing the staff she'd hidden and began waving her hand over the top of it. There was no longer a care that anyone would witness what was happening. Let the mortals cower in fear. She'd accomplished what she had set out for.

"Let the ties that bind him be free. And while you may see this as a victory your soul is now trapped to serve just as those you hate. But instead of on blood you shall dine on the suffering and delight of others, feeding from their emotions or dying yourself." She grinned, ending the spell, and gaze piercing into Ginger's eyes. "Enjoy your plight my dear."

And with that, Maleficent teleported away.
