He kept the gun trained carefully on her. "Probably not. But it's better than nothing," Peter said levelly, not taking the bait. It was not as though rising to that little challenge could put him in any worse trouble than he already was, but he’d rather bide his time for now. “And to be perfectly fucking honest, I’m still not sure I’m interested in your gift.”
He already knew he wasn't, obviously, but again, playing for time seemed like the best option just then. He had, after all, come here with the intention of distracting her. “You haven’t even told me what it’s supposed to be yet,” he said, raising a brow back at her.
