Parker didn’t want him anywhere near Felicia, and because Parker didn’t want him anywhere near her, you bet he was going to do exactly what the Spider wished he wouldn’t. It wasn’t just to piss him off and it wasn’t just to force him to sit there and worry about what he might be planning to do. Eddie did genuinely like Felicia. She was nice to him and the symbiote seemed to approve of her, which meant something to him. For the time being, right now, it was finding faults in almost everybody it came into contact with. They agitated it or they weren’t good enough. They prodded Venom into being on edge and hungry and Eddie thought, if he started leaving a trail of mutilated bodies in his wake, there was going to be trouble. He didn’t know if he was ready for that yet.
Stepping into the lobby, his senses picked up on the Spider immediately. They were much more sensitive to his aura than they were to anybody else’s. It made him itch, like he wanted to reach out and strangle him right there in front of her, and bite and snap until he drew blood. But he couldn’t do that. Not here. Not with her there. Felicia felt like a friend and Eddie, the rational, normal side of him, did not want her to see the monster face to face. People, they cowered in front of Venom. They hovered in fear because yeah, he wasn’t in his right mind and the teeth, the claws, the eyes, helped his image very little.
“Do you think Parker wants to come along? I wouldn’t want to leave him here all alone. He might pout.” He swung his gaze over to that corner, to that hiding spot that Felicia couldn’t see. He gave it a fleeting glance and hoped that Parker would see it.
