Regina was still angry since Galen had proven her wrong. Not once, but twice, in the same day. He'd foreseen they'd be talking again and they had. If only she had fled the carnival in a different direction. Then he'd claimed to be able to stop her. It had taken the fairies and then the Dark One to fully put an end to her before. But they'd all gotten their dues when she cast the curse. This time all it took was the blink of an eye and he'd had her subdued. The entire journey back to the house had been full of her protesting and levelling threats. Protests and threats that went ignored. Once inside she'd tried to escape not wanting to be there and found she couldn't. Whatever Galen had used to force her to the house he'd also used to keep her inside. Giving in to the darkness had been effortless in the carnival. Though now that she was out she was so conflicted. Henry had given a message to her "captor" that he loved her. Just hearing that when he hadn't said it to her in so long seeped into the haze. Regina hadn't lied when she said that a part of her knew that the darkness needed to be fought. But the side the carnival had brought out was fighting against that. The pain of all the loss she had suffered and how weak and burdened she felt was buried so deep when she let the darkness control her every movement. her steps were lighter and she was far more confident than the broken shell of a woman she was. She was well and truly conflicted. Grabbing one of the throw pillows on her bed she threw it across the room letting out a frustrated scream. |
